Terms of Service

Last updated October 12, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. Section 14 requires that most disputes be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and waives class actions and jury trials. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days, as explained in Section 14.

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and CopyDating ("CopyDating", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the website and web app at copydating.com and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Subscription Terms, which are part of these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with its date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Changes don't apply to disputes that arose before them. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service.

2. Who can use CopyDating

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is offered to residents of the United States. You may not use it if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. What the Service does, and what it doesn't

You upload a screenshot of a conversation, a dating profile or a story. The Service transcribes it, provides an analysis and suggests replies inspired by persuasion and copywriting techniques, with an explanation. Analyses and suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation.

4. Your account

You can use the Service without an account: a session is kept on your device. You can save your account with your email address through a one-time sign-in link. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@copydating.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

5. Your content and other people's messages

"Your Content" means the screenshots you upload, the text we transcribe from them, the profile information you give us and the replies you edit. You keep your rights in Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process and display Your Content only to provide, secure and improve the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content to train artificial intelligence models.

Screenshots often contain messages written by other people. When you upload one, you confirm that:

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

The Service is designed not to help you persist after a clear refusal. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

7. Plans, payment and cancellation

Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Prices, renewal, cancellation, refunds, price changes and reminders are set out in the Subscription Terms. In short: weekly ($6.99), monthly ($19.99) or yearly ($99.99), renewing at the same frequency; a one-time pack of 5 chats ($4.99); cancellation online, anytime; payments are not refundable except where required by law. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive your full card number. Plans include fair use limits of 10 chats and 50 reply edits per day, and 40 chats and 150 reply edits per week. Without a plan, one screenshot per day is analyzed; its replies stay locked until you pay.

8. Our content, the techniques and their authors

The Service, including its software, design, library of techniques, texts and the CopyDating name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes under these Terms.

Techniques are described in our own words and credited to the people who described them. CopyDating is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any author, person or brand mentioned in the Service. Names are used only to identify the source of an idea.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, such as payment processors (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link) and hosting and AI providers. Their own terms may apply to your use of their services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where reasonable, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period. Sections 5 (license for past processing), 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any analysis or suggestion will be accurate, appropriate or produce any result.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or relationships, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms. Our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50).

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and reasonable costs (including attorneys' fees) brought by third parties arising from your messages, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms or of the law.

14. Dispute resolution: arbitration and class action waiver

14.1 Talk to us first

Before starting a claim, you and we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally for 60 days after one of us sends a written notice describing it (to us: hello@copydating.com). Limitation periods are paused during this time.

14.2 Binding individual arbitration

If the dispute is not resolved, any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live or by video, at your choice. Payment of fees is governed by the AAA rules; we will pay any fees that the rules require us to pay. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, but only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent needed for that party's individual claim.

14.3 Exceptions

Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may seek relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

14.4 No class actions, no jury

You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective or representative action or arbitration. Claims may be brought only individually.

If this class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy (and only that one) will be decided by a court, after the individual arbitration is complete, and the rest of this Section still applies.

14.5 Mass filings

If 25 or more similar demands are filed against us by or with the help of the same or coordinated counsel, they will be administered in batches of up to 25 under the AAA's mass arbitration procedures, and the parties will cooperate in good faith to resolve them efficiently.

14.6 Your right to opt out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing hello@copydating.com with your name, the email or account identifier you use, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

15. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act for Section 14. Claims not subject to arbitration will be brought in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law of the state where you live gives you the right to bring them where you live. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer protections that the law of the state where you live does not allow to be waived.
